Pack 2815 Tiger Cub Den

scouting for food – thank you!

November 10, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Thanks to all the Tigers who participated in the Scouting For Food pickup on Saturday!

Our den collected 55 bags of food for the local food bank; the pack as a whole brought in around 180!  I hope our contribution helps out some people who really need it.

Also, thanks to Patti for organizing our efforts – we really appreicate it!

Finally – remember to think of a family tradition or two to share for this week’s den meeting!

See you Wednesday!

den meeting reminder – scrapbooks!

November 5, 2008 · Leave a Comment

Just a quick reminder about tonight’s den meeting at the usual place and
the usual time.

We’ll be continuing to work on Tiger Cub Achievement One, this time
tackling 1D – "Make A Family Scrapbook".  To this end, eveyone please
bring along five to eight family photographs/snapshots for the boys to
work with.

Just to track progress on achievement one, the trip to the library
covered requirement 1G.

I’m looking forward to seeing everyone tonight – for once, I’m in town!

welcome, tiger cubs

…and parents, too!

I’ve hastily set up this site as an easy way to quickly disseminate information, stuff like upcoming activities, meeting agendas, or anything else that might be useful to all of us. At least that’s the way I hope it’ll work.

As I write this, we’re about an hour past the wrap-up of our first official den meeting for the Tiger Cubs of Pack 2815. For whatever reason, I ended up as den leader. I accept this responsibility with all appropriate humility.

I think our goal here, as we kind of talked about this evening, ought to be, above all, the boys have fun, and hopefully learn some neat things.

In that spirit, I look forward to working with all my fellow den parents to come up with some neat activities for the kids to do. It looks like we’ve got some good resources within our midst to work with, so if you have a good idea, let us know!

In the next week or two, I’ll be getting everyone’s information, trying to remember everybody’s names (you’ll find I’m absolutely terrible with this), and we’ll start figuring out what each of us can bring to the unit.

For next week, it appears that we’ve got a craft lined up, and we’ll get the boys working through the initial Bobcat requirements, which are really pretty simple; I don’t think it’s too ambitious to get everybody through them in the next two weeks. that way every boy should receive something at the next Pack meeting.

Upcoming, we’ve got the camping trip with the Pack on the 24th and 25th of October; I’m planning on overnighting with Andrew; everyone else is welcome to come along, and I just got a note from Mr. McNeilly (the Pack committee chair) that the pack’s been invited to Troop 819’s “Haunted Cabin” activity on October 27.

More info as I get it – thanks for all your help and participation!
